Church: a Burlesque Event

After an oversold debut show in 2023, we’re looking to make the third year’s event more awesome. Church is our reclamation of the term to mean a safe space to gather. It’s an opportunity to worship the grace that is queer and trans people; in femmes and weirdos; in fat bodies and all the in betweens. It’s a reminder of the holiness of marginalized resistance and persistence. It’s a space to find joy in the face of it all. In a season where religion and morality are being used to further push us into the margins, it’s more important to reclaim our space in this way than ever.
