Local author Richard M. Timberlake returns with his latest thriller Body, Soul, and Bones.

Tuesday, September 23rd at 6 PM.

RANDALL BETTS FINDS HIMSELF AT A DESPICABLE TURNING POINT IN HIS LIFE: Over 30 years defending his country—first through the Marine Corps and then as a CIA counterterrorism case officer—he senses that his service and skills are no longer needed.

After almost 20 years of marriage, his wife sees another course and has initiated divorcing him. Their daughter, at 17, considers herself grown and doesn’t need the fatherly guidance and protection that she did as a child. His devotion to his country and his family seems to be crumbling away from him. His spiral of self-doubt explodes when his daughter is thrown into a van and whisked away at her school. With no apparent ransom demand, it becomes clear that Betts’ daughter has been the victim of human traffickers.

When a slim lead to her abductors points to a region of South America where Betts has worked before, he changes into a weapon of danger and determination. He travels back to a place he used to know, but now all the terrorists are gone, and the evil organized criminal organizations running the most dangerous conflation of three countries are an insurmountable threat. The journey to some of the worst slums in South America finds Betts with no friends, no help, and little hope of finding his daughter. But from the very depth of rejection and fatigue comes a chance. A slim one, but Betts will use all his military and tradecraft training to achieve his mission of rescue and vengeance.

His enemies have strength, power, and control, but can they retain the advantage when someone as dangerous as Randall Betts comes knocking?
