Don’t tell Edgar, but we’re throwing him a party…
Edgar turns 215 years young this January and YOU are invited! Attend the Poe Museum’s annual Birthday Bash on Saturday, January 20th from 4:00pm-10:00pm to celebrate the life and legacy of Richmond’s very own, Edgar Allan Poe!
The party will take place in the Poe Museum’s Enchanted Garden under a heated tent. We will kickoff with a keynote talk on Edgar’s lasting impact on pop culture by Professor Scott Peeples, author of The Man of the Crowd: Edgar Allan Poe and the City. The Coldharts will perform excerpts from their critically-acclaimed shows, Edgar Allan and Eddie Poe. Then, enjoy the smooth jazz sound of the Charles Owens Trio, and of course, The Embalmers.
Local craft beer by Garden Grove Brewing, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks for sale. TBT El Gallo will satisfy all of your culinary cravings and The Sweets Bar will provide all the treats – because what’s a birthday party without a little something sweet? Available for purchase in the parking lot.
Dress to impress! Formal wear not required, but the always dapper Edgar Allan Poe would certainly appreciate it…
You won’t want to miss this party to die for!
