ornaments, flowers, home decor, fair-trade handmade items, and more will be available for holiday shopping.
Hosted by Immaginé Designs, the Autumn in Ashland Artists’ Showcase will open on Friday, November 21 from 5-8 pm with an Opening Reception featuring cash bar, hors d’oeuvres catered by AMC/Cross Brothers, raffle, and silent auction that will benefit CJ’s Thumbs Up Foundation. Artists will be present to sell and discuss their work with visitors.
Saturday’s show and sale is open from 10 am to 4 pm, including beverages and desserts provided by students in the culinary arts program at the Hanover Trades and Technology Center. It is just a three-block walk through historic downtown to the Town Hall, where the annual Light up the Tracks grand Illumination and celebration begins at 2 pm. Six downtown eateries will be open so visitors can enjoy a full day of art and community.

Immaginé was formed in 2012 and now includes family and friends who create images that highlight the beauty of our world. We share these images from our drawings, paintings, photographs, and writings, as well as original art, stationery, print and canvas art, books, select custom gift items, and a variety of fair-trade gifts and ornaments. We partner with Ten Thousand Villages, SERRV, and Global Creations to offer items made through fair trade practices in India, Vietnam, and Haiti.

Artist Booth Fees benefit the Hanover Arts and Activities Center. The historic structure was built in 1867, the first home of Ashland Baptist Church. The Ashland Women’s Club purchased it when the church was relocated in the 1960s and renovated to become a community art center. Today, it is a nonprofit organization, managed by a volunteer board, and serves the community with programs and public events like the Off the Rails Craft Beer Festival, community events like the 4th of July Parade and Celebration, and private event rentals.

Funds raised by the Silent Auction and Raffle will benefit CJs Thumbs Up Foundation, which helps families of children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. Since their founding in 2010, CJ’s Thumbs Up Foundation has grown in amazing ways, honoring Charlotte Jennie’s memory by serving families in the Richmond, VA community in their time of need with meals and financial assistance.
