20th Cap2Cap Bike Ride

Get ready to ride into history! The Cap2Cap presented by Dominion Energy is celebrating its 20th anniversary on May 9th and 10th, offering an unforgettable experience filled with history, community, and adventure. For two decades, this beloved event has brought outdoor enthusiasts together to experience the scenic Virginia Capital Trail, a paved pathway stretching from Williamsburg to Richmond, taking cyclists on a journey through 400 years of Virginia history.

Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or gearing up for your first Cap2Cap, this family-friendly event welcomes all skill levels with multiple distances ranging from 7 to 100+ miles. Riders will enjoy a fully supported course, stocked rest stops, and an open-start format for a flexible and stress-free experience. Additional perks include bike tech support, restrooms along the route, team competitions with prizes, party zones, and scenic views including rolling farmlands, forests, and river crossings.

Participants will be treated to a unique VIP experience at the 20th ride celebration at Chickahominy Riverfront Park in James City County on Friday, May 9, and Dorey Park in Henrico County on Saturday, May 10. Festivities include a lively party zone with music, a vendor fair with local artisans and skillshare sessions, and the best cycling community around. Riders will receive an event shirt, a tasty lunch and beverage ticket, and an exclusive 20th-anniversary Cap2Cap gift bag.

New this year, riders can look forward to exclusive 20th-anniversary surprises including a commemorative cycling jersey, tech tee, and other limited edition gear, a group camping option, and community skillshare sessions. Returning favorites include specialty rest stops featuring Ukrop’s cookies, and Pickle Juice, the two-day challenge, and a shuttle option for half-century riders. Participants can choose from various ride segments, including the Century, Half Century, Quarter Century, Genworth Family Fun Ride, Redmond Asset Management 2-Day Challenge, or a virtual ride option.
