There are many ways to show your appreciation for Mother Earth on Saturday, April 23. And if you’re a festival fan, you’re in luck. One of them is happening at Great Shiplock Park in Shockoe Bottom. Another is happening on the other side of the river, across the Mayo Bridge in Manchester. The big RVA Earth Day Festival, held annually by Style Weekly, features Richmond bands East of Afton, Red Light Rodeo, Mighty Joshua and Everwilde. You can also enjoy the farmers and vendor markets, river wildlife tours, children’s creative activities and local food and drink. And that’s not to mention the RVA Earth Day Festival’s neighboring RVA Street Art Festival, the third annual outdoor local artist showcase, which takes place in the area around the Southern States silos from Thursday-Sunday, April 21-24.
