Event Pick: “When I Grow Up” at Richmond Triangle Players

July 26

Our humble Southern abode has everything. You don’t even have to travel to the Big Apple to see a cabaret-styled night of music. On Sunday, July 26, the sound of Broadway and beyond comes alive for a one-night-only performance of “When I Grow Up” by Brittany D. Simmons. The Richmond-based singer and actress also stars in 5th Wall Theatre’s “Carrie the Musical,” running at RVA Event Space at Plant Zero. But for this show, Simmons will share a night of songs, stories and secrets at Richmond Triangle Players with help from musical director Anthony Smith and guests Andrea Rivette and Matt Shofner. Simmons’ bluegrass-inspired take on theater classics and Lady Gaga should come alive. The show begins at 8 p.m. Admission is $15.
