Nothing says the weekend is finally here like oysters and art. Well, not usually, but for this weekend they do. On Friday, July 22, the Visual Arts Center of Richmond celebrates the end of the workweek with VisArts on the Half Shell. The inaugural outdoor celebration will not only feature an abundance of bivalve mollusks from the Oyster Company of Virginia, but also offer barbecue from Alamo BBQ, adult beverages from Texas Beach Bloody Mary Mix, Belle Isle Craft Spirits and Center of the Universe Brewing Co., and dessert options from the King of Pops. Other homegrown flavors will come from J.M. Stock Provisions, Crunch Dynasty and Victory Farms. Along with all the taste sensations, there will be children’s art activities, exhibit viewing and bluegrass from the Nobile Brothers.
