The Latin-infusionists of Tiempo Libre make music for active engagement. I guess you could listen to to their cross-cultural melodies sitting down, but that’s not how it was intended to be experienced. It’s meant to be felt with every fiber of your physical being. The three-time Grammy-nominated group from Miami has made its good name by getting hordes of people to dance as if no one is looking. While the group’s recorded efforts have been highly praised, Tiempo Libre’s best work isn’t done in the studio. It’s first and foremost a live band and a brutally good one at that. On Friday, June 17, Tiempo Libre brings its all-bodies-on-the-dance-floor sound to the Tin Pan for a night of sweaty exertions. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the band takes the stage at 8. $25-$30. tinpanrva.com.
