I’ve seen millions of human beings endure all types of abuse on television and thought nothing of it. But the minute the screen shows any kind of cruelty to animals, I’m grabbing the remote in horror. That’s why people like me will be flocking to the Richmond Pet Expo on Saturday, July 11, at the Richmond Raceway Complex. Human beings have a love for their pets and animals that most feel for only a select few of their fellow species. The festivities include an abundance of pet-friendly exhibitors and rescue groups as well as demonstrations, talent and costume contests, adoption opportunities and everything else related to enriching your relationship with nonhumans. The baby-talk-inducing showcase and convention runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free. richmondpetexpo.com.
