In celebration of the local Latino community, Richmond’s Canal Walk will be transformed into the Floating Gardens of Xochimilco in Mexico City for the annual ¿Qué Pasa? Festival of Virginia on Saturday, May 2. The daylong event, organized by the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, will feature a bevy of Latino cultural delights: boat rides on the canal, movements by the Bolivian Dancers, the International Dance Club and the Latin Ballet, and music from Ban Caribe, Dennis Soriano and the Willyton-Instinto Celestial Band. If that weren’t enough, an artisans’ market and other activities will add to the cultural immersion. The free, family-enriching festivities run 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Call 378-4099 or visit quepasafestival.com.
