The Meatmen are totally wrong. Though not as bitterly offensive as its contemporaries from the American hardcore movement of the early ’80s, the band’s distinctive brand of punk-based humor is a cup of tea from which most will never drink. Led by vocalist and lone original member Tesco Vee, a former elementary school teacher, the band continues to spew politically incorrect blasphemies over a racket of buzz-sawed punk and metal. The grand jester of the absurd eviscerates a litany of sacred cows including the Beatles, organized religion and anything else designed to be taken the wrong way. Tesco Vee and his current crop of Meatmen bring their crude vaudevillian potty-punked party to Bandito’s Burrito Lounge on Thursday, April 30. Opening are current motor city madmen Against the Grain and Richmond’s own U.S. Bastards. Doors open at 9 p.m. Free.
