Some people get all warm and gooey inside about babies, but I’ll take a cat over an infant every single time. They demand less attention, aren’t as needy and most important, are far cuter. The Amazing Acro-Cats are a cat lover’s dream. The 35-minute variety show starts its run at the Gottwald Playhouse on Friday, June 12, featuring formerly orphaned and abandoned felines doing a host of things they normally would never do. They’ll be walking on tightropes, skateboarding, jumping through hoops and — long, dramatic kitty pause — playing music in an all-cat band. Organized and trained by Samantha Martin, a portion of the proceeds from each show goes to local and national cat and kitten rescue organizations. The Amazing Acro-Cats perform their adorable tricks Friday through Sunday, June 12-14 and June 19-21. Call 800-514-3849 or visit richmondcenterstage.com.
