If tandoori is your thing — and even if it’s not — you need to head down to the Greater Richmond Convention Center this weekend for the Festival of India for some spicy food from the wide-ranging culinary regions of this vast country, along with traditional and East-West fusion music and dance.
On Oct. 14 and 15, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., the Bollywood and Bhangra dance competitions will sparkle, and vendors will be on hand to sell things such as jewelry, Indian clothing, movies and music.
The festival has gotten bigger every year since 1981 and last year saw crowds topping out at 20,000 people. Proceeds from the event will go to the Hindu Center of Virginia. thefestivalofindia.org.
