This weekend is the sophomore year for Richmond’s own homegrown art fair, Current, a project we wrote about in Style’s Fall Arts 2017 issue. The weekend-long event, with daily panel talks, guided tours of exhibiting gallery booths and roundtable discussions, is being held on the ground floor of the historic Main Street Station. Friday, Sept. 29, at 1 p.m.: Artist panel moderated by Anne Fletcher featuring Chris Norris of Iridian Gallery, Grace Kubilius of the Visual Arts Center, Brian Barr of Shockoe Artspace and Pallavi Sen of 1708 Gallery.
Friday, Sept. 29, at 5:30 p.m.: Reception and interpretation of art moderated by Lauren Ross, curator and founder of RVA Critical Writing program, featuring Stephanie Cash of Burnaway, Elizabeth Schlatter of University of Richmond museums, and Paige Goodpasture of Looksee.
Saturday, Sept. 30, 1 p.m.: Artist panel moderated by Sarah Reed of the Virginia Commonwealth University interior design department, featuring Andrew Donnelly of Reynolds Gallery, Susan Worsham of Candela Books and Gallery, and Eric Yevak of Quirk Gallery.
Saturday, Sept. 30, 5 p.m.: Collectors panel moderated by Ted Elmore, private collector, Studio Two Three board member and president of Richmond Bridgepark Association, featuring Jay Barrows and Molly Dodge.
Sunday, Oct. 1, at 1 p.m.: Artist panel moderated by Ashley Kistler featuring Sarah Boyts Yoder of Second Street Gallery, Ed Trask of Glave Kocen Gallery and Ronald Walton of Walton Gallery.
