Tarrant wants you to have a good time. Led by guitarist, singer and songwriter Jordan Tarrant, the roots-rock Americana that the local group puts forth is a frothy brew of barroom frivolity. Songs such as “It’s OK,” “Pig Latin” and my personal favorite, “Cheap Shit from China,” are shot-and-a-beer inspirations that go down smooth. A hoedown of sing-a-long sounds, the group’s Bob Wills-meets-the Band fermentations are less filling and taste great. It brings the acoustic-based party anthems to Poe’s Pub on Thursday, Nov. 19. Solo performances by local kindred spirits Corey Axt and Adam Eubank set the old school-new school tone before Tarrant takes the stage. Doors open at 9 p.m. Free. poespub.com.
