Hip-hop has been around since the late ’70s and yet some people still think of it as a passing trend. What makes the genre different from other music forms is that it continues to be internationally relevant. On Saturday, Sept. 3, SoopNation Concert 2016, the traveling showcase of modern 804 beat-makers and wordsmiths, takes the stage at the Grace Street Theater. Presented by Krown Holda Promotions and sponsored by Winners Circle, the night features performances by budding Richmond rap sensations Supa Soop, Reppa Ton, Tuch, Big No, Roger Finch, Mikey AK and others. Many of the artists also will be premiering elusive video content and there will be multimedia engagements and surprises to enhance the experience. After summer stops in Los Angeles and New York, doors open for Virginia’s largest independent hip-hop showcase at 6 p.m. Admission is $10. For details, visit supasoop.com.
