This seems like the songwriter showcase of the week: It features several rising indie talents led by Washington’s Sara Curtin, who has been called “one of D.C.’s finest” by Brightest Young Things. She’s also won four Washington Area music awards with her duo the Sweater Set. Check out the lovely vocals and sultry, reverbed electric guitar of her new tune “Summer” at her website. She’ll be joined by rising Richmond musician Sammi Lanzetta, lead singer from Venus Guytrap, whose brisk EP, “For Avery” on 6131 Records heralds an exciting new voice with charming, hook-filled rockers like “Anxious Energy.” Her rich, smoky vocals turn caustic on a dime, especially when building from the reoccurring lyric, “People my age make me anxious.” Rounding out the bill is the well-known local Iranian-American songwriter Anousheh with her futuristic pop. Yes, it’s a talent-stacked songwriting extravaganza, and it takes place Friday, Sept. 29, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery. Free. hardywood.com.
