Event Pick: Radius 250 Group Art Exhibition Opening at the Artspace Gallery

Friday, May 22

If, as Albert Einstein said, “true art is characterized by an irresistible urge in the creative artist,” our part of the East Coast corridor is populated with a lot of people defined by that urge. Case in point: Radius 250, the group art show featuring 43 artists working within 250 miles of Richmond at the Artspace Gallery. Curated by Amy Moorefield, the deputy director of exhibitions and collections at the Taubman Museum of Art in Roanoke, the annual exhibition features two- and three-dimensional works and creations in digital and video mediums. Richmond artists Suzanna Fields, Todd Hale, Fiona Ross, Elizabeth Bowie, Reni Gower and others have pieces in the show that will occupy all 3,000 square feet of the gallery. The opening reception is Friday, May 22, from 7-10 p.m. Call 232-6464 or visit artspacegallery.org. Through July 19.
