Country-seasoned rockers Miss Shevaughn and Yuma Wray are as much a part of late-’60s American music-making as they are of the here and now. The folked-up psychedelia on the band’s second album, “Lean into the Wind,” takes bits and pieces of Judy Collins, New Riders of the Purple Sage and the Flying Burrito Brothers and reassembles them into a surprisingly modern sounding amalgamation. From the opening shuffle of “Drifter’s Compass” to ballads “Coyote” and “Oh, Tornado,” the constantly touring ensemble is well-versed at getting to the heart of shifting emotional and musical terrains. But what will keep you coming back for more is the striking intimacy of Miss Shevaughn’s voice — by itself or complemented by harmonic backing, she commands attention. Miss Shevaughn and Yuma Wray bring two-more-bottles-of-wine inspirations to Emilio’s on Thursday, June 23. Showtime is at 10 p.m.
