Laetitia Sadier is the sound of yesterday and tomorrow, today. Best known for her work with English post-rock group Stereo Lab, the French musician and vocalist has always been able to bridge the melodic gap between what was and what will be. Her 2014 solo album, “Something Shines” on Drag City Records, is a 21st-century mix of outsider folk, Nico-inspired distance and med-tempo soundtrack lounge. Meditative and engrossing, the measured uplifts of “The Milk of Human Tenderness” and “Butter Side Up” invoke historical precedence and the possibilities of tomorrow with style, grace and beauty. Sadier brings her cerebral invocations to the Camel on Saturday, Sept. 12 Opening for her are Deradoorian from Los Angeles and Richmond shoe gazers Lightfields. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. $15. thecamel.org.
