If you, like millions of other people around the world, can’t get enough of modern country music, this is the weekend for you. On Friday and Saturday, July 15 and 16, it’s K95 Countryfest at Innsbrook After Hours. Country megastar Jake Owen kicks off the two-day festival on Friday with a barrage of multiplatinum, Top 40 hits on which his story continues to be built.
Joining him in warm-up support is up-and-coming female duo from Nashville, Maddie and Tae. On Saturday, heart-throbbing, chart-topping sensation Thomas Rhett plays his No. 1 hit songs “It Goes Like This,” “Get Me Some of That” and “Die a Happy Man,” to what surely will be a throbbing mass of deliriously delighted devotees. Before he hits the stage, new country sensations Brett Young, Runaway June and Morgan Wallen make their respective, twang-based pitches to become your new favorite listening options.
Gates open for the 21st-century hoedown at 5 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday. For ticket information, call 423-1779 or visit innsbrookafterhours.com.
