The 13th annual Zombie Walk in Carytown:Always a bloody blast, this annual parade to benefit the American Cancer Society will take place on Saturday, Oct. 28. Pre-walk meet up and staging area is at the boat lake in Byrd Park, and the ghoulish walk begins across from the Byrd Theatre in Carytown at 2:30 p.m.
The Creepshow Peepshow at Gallery5: From the steamy depths of the underworld, the Revue presents a night of creepy burlesque on Saturday, Oct. 28, hosted by “the bourbon-soaked corpse of Magnolia Jackson Pickett Burnside,” and featuring the resurrection of Deepa De Jour, the return of Puppie Buffe and the introduction of Rosie Dripper. 8 p.m. $15 in advance, $20 at door. 18 and older.
Silent Music Revival presents Creepy Shorts by Segundo de Chomón with live soundtrack by Angelica Garcia at Gallery 5: In partnership with the James River Film Society, this screening on Sunday, Oct. 29, features the spooky cool shorts of the pioneering Spanish silent film director with live musical accompaniment. 8 p.m. All ages. Halloween Pumpkin Painting at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery: Bring the little ones Sunday, Oct. 29, in their favorite costumes and let ’em go to town on the pumpkins. Staff will be on hand to assist, plus there’s face painting, pumpkin painting and goodies. $10-$19. 1 to 4 p.m.
