Blue Bee Cider has been a cider lover’s best friend for three years. In dog years, that means a 21st birthday, which explains the canine-friendly Dog Days of Summer street party Saturday, July 30, at its Manchester location on Sixth Street. The festivities include a multitude of tail-wagging activities including bouncing balls, wading pools and drinking bowls to occupy the hounds between enthusiastic butt sniffs. If you don’t have a furry friend and want one, there will be a pet rescue adoption booth from the Henrico Humane Society that can hook you up with a future social media star of your own, and local vendors to help you take care of the lifelong commitment. For humans, there will be free cake from Shyndigz, meat and vegetable ingestibles from Camden’s Dogtown Market, performances by Richmond guitar-bongo duo, Manakins on Franklin, and plenty of homemade fermented liquids from Virginia’s first and Richmond’s only urban cidery. The free celebration runs noon-7. Call 231-0280 or visit bluebeecider.com.
