Since 2002, Crossroads Coffee and Ice Cream at 3600 Forest Hill Ave. has been “keeping the oral tradition alive through social intercourse,” as their Facebook page reads. Don’t read that one too fast, kids. This weekend, it’ll be celebrating the tradition of artists and storytellers who’ve made this a joyous community hang for years. Some highlights: On Friday, Sept 22, there’s Breakfast Cabaret from 9 to 10:30 a.m.; Quatro na Bossa from 4 to 6:30 p.m. and exploratory jazz from Hotel X from 7:30 to 10 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 23, there will be a Reedy Creek Clean Up with RVA Clean Sweet from 10 a.m. to noon and with Nobile Brothers playing from 4 to 6:30 p.m. and the Ramblers performing from 7:30 to 10 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 24, features a benefit for Friends of the James River Park with DJ Cortes from 3 to 5 p.m., and Stephanie Powers from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., closing out with Elizabeth Wise from 7 to 8 p.m. No cover for all acts.
