Event Pick: “Cinderella” at the Altria Theater

March 10 and 11

The only Rodgers and Hammerstein musical ever written for television, “Cinderella,” originally aired in 1957 starring Julie Andrews. A revamped stage version debuted on Broadway in 2013 with a new book by Douglas Carter Beane, updating the famous fairy tale with a few minor subplot twists — including oppressive legislation in the kingdom. You can check out the Tony-winning play for best costume design when it’s staged at Altria Theater on Friday, March 10, at 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 11, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets cost $43-$73. altriatheater.com.
