Originally from Leesburg but now based in Seattle, Car Seat Headrest is the acclaimed indie rock group of prolific songwriter Will Barnes — known by the stage name Will Toledo — who signed with Matador records in 2015. A thoughtful and imaginative lyricist, Barnes is the kind of introspective, self-conscious rocker with all the right influences who makes critics swoon to his melodic and occasionally abrasive guitar noodling.
