The new Ellwood Thompson’s Natural Market in the Shoppes at Bellgrade will offer cooking classes beginning in May. Learn about food allergies, detoxification and the art of juicing, nutritional flaws and natural solutions for ADD, ADHD and autism. Cost of each class is $20. Call 897-5300 for more information.

Downtown worker bees looking for a micro spring break on their lunch hour can find themselves a patio table at Chez Foushee, 203 N. Foushee St. Owner Andrew Hardie recommends the Sesame Chicken Salad from the new spring luncheon menu. And save room for dessert: pound cake with Galliano cream sauce and fresh strawberries. Also look for the return of tapas evenings to Chez Foushee this summer. Flamenco dancing and Spanish guitar will accompany the stream of tapas platters from the kitchen to your table. Reservations will be required.

Nuvo Bistro, 5702 Grove Ave., hosts a wine dinner April 30. Co-owner David Williamson says the menu, featuring prickly shrimp, ravioli, rack of lamb, crab cakes and other spring menu items, will be paired with Robert Mondavi wines. Reservations are limited to the first 50 people. Call 288-3600 for more information.

Acacia, 3325 W. Cary St., celebrates its second anniversary April 30. Call 354-6060 for more information.

Give your next catered event a taste of Gotham — Dominic’s of New York (you know, those kiosks outside Lowe’s and Pleasants) now offers full-service catering. Yep, they’ll bring the beverages, salads and desserts in addition to their signature Philly cheese steaks and Italian sausages. Get a taste during the upcoming Innsbrook Afterhours concert series at the Innsbrook Pavillion or the Market Cafe.
