Eat for a Week

Richmond Restaurant Week returns to benefit the Central Virginia Foodbank and Meals on Wheels.

For those wanting to try different Richmond restaurants without making a serious financial commitment, this month's Richmond Restaurant Week is an excellent introductory course with a feel-good result.

Twenty-three of the city's popular dining spots are taking reservations for the event, which runs Oct. 26 to Nov. 1. Diners spend $25.09 for a three-course meal (beverages, tax and gratuity are extra) and $2.09 of that benefits Central Virginia Foodbank and Meals on Wheels. Dale and Aline Reitzer, owners of Acacia Mid-town, organize this annual fundraiser and it's grown substantially in scope and interest. Of course the nonprofits accept donations all year for their FeedMore programs. See www.richmondrestaurantweek.com for information.
