The answer will come during the 43rd Annual Grammy Awards, to be broadcast live on CBS-TV from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Wednesday, Feb. 21, from 8 to 11 p.m. Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, is up for four Grammy awards: Album of the Year, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Solo Performance and Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group (with Dr. Dre). He’ll also be performing live on the Grammy broadcast. Eminem isn’t the only artist up for multiple awards. Others with three or more nominations include Sheryl Crow, D’Angelo, producer/songwriter LaShawn Daniels, Destiny’s Child, Dr. Dre, Foo Fighters, Vince Gill, producer Nigel Godrich, Macy Gray, Don Henley, Faith Hill, producer/songwriter Rodney Jerkins, Joe, B.B. King, Brian McKnight, Madonna, Aimee Mann, conductor/arranger Vince Mendoza, ‘NSync, Jill Scott, Ricky Skaggs, Sisqo, Steely Dan and U2. Nominations were made through secret balloting by the 10,000 members of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, composed of singers, musicians, conductors, producers, composers, engineers and others who have contributed in 26 fields. In addition to Eminem, those who will perform on the special include Elton John, Aguilera, Destiny’s Child, Hill, Madonna, ‘N Sync, Nnenna Freelon, Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton, Take 6 and U2.
