While most girls drooled over the Beatles (or those who dared, the Stones), Debbie Davies was pouring over her father’s blues records, which led her straight to the electric guitar. The ’70s and ’80s found her playing mainly with female groups, until her blues guitar mastery won her a spot in Albert Collins’ band in 1988. Davies released her first solo album in 1993, and 10 more have followed, featuring her unique style – a mixture of rootsy American blues and the rockin’ blues from across the pond. Catch Blues Music Award winner Debbie Davies at the Capital Ale House Sunday, Aug. 10, at 6 p.m. $10-$15. 780-ALES.
