Craig Karges has a talent for freaking people out. While some entertainers opt to shock people with borderline inappropriateness or gross-out antics, Karges prefers an approach a little more cerebral in nature. Whether you want to call him a mentalist, a cold reader or a genuine supernatural clairvoyant, the veteran stage man has spent years dumbfounding audiences with his ability to seemingly tap into the thoughts of others. Adding a bit of illusion and magic to his act, most notably for his ability to levitate and move static objects, Karges makes those in attendance come to their own conclusions. Try to figure out the man's tricks when he performs at the University of Richmond on Friday, Oct. 2, at 9 p.m. in the Tyler Haynes Commons. Free. Westhampton Way. 289-8489. — Mike Hilleary
