Chesterfield resident Taylor Crenshaw, a nationally known Twitter presence who critiqued pop culture under the pseudonym Nicole Milfie, was found dead in her home at the age of 21, CBS6 reports.

Foul play is not suspected, and Crenshaw left behind a 22-month-old daughter. National media outlets were mourning her passing.

“What made Milfie vital in sex-positive, feminist circles was her vocalness regarding self-love and her dedication to uplifting black women,” staff wrote at NewsOne. BET called it “a sad day.”

Crenshaw had over 34,000 followers at furfante@nicolemilfie. Some of her last posts examined the drama at the recent MTV Video Awards show. But on Aug. 28 she also was retweeting quotes from famous poet Sylvia Plath, who committed suicide in 1963, including the lines “kiss me and you will see how important I am . . . I should have murdered this, that murders me.”

Paper magazine called her “one of the most amazing women to follow on the internet right now.” The article added that her “astute dissection of popular culture is enviable, and her sense of style and humor is right now.”

The CBS6 report quoted her mother Felicia as saying “she wanted to be heard. She was a passionate writer . . . she blogged about single motherhood, celebrities, and what was happening in her life and in the world . . . She was radical. She had a no-holds barred attitude and would say things we were afraid to say.”

Her funeral is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 2 at the March Funeral Home Chapel and there is Go Fund Me page set up to help care for her daughter, Madison.
