Just as earnest but usually a bit more studied, the words recited by students and instructors from your local university offer a genuine feel of the undercurrent of contemporary writing. The von Gribley series, popping up irregularly at Chop Suey Books, returns this week with two poets from VCU, Angela Lehman-Rios and Elizabeth Canfield. Lehman-Rios’ humorous work should be surprising to anyone expecting stuffiness.
