Best Unconventional History Lesson


The marriage of two things the River City loves — history and tattoos — came together beautifully for the Valentine Richmond History Center’s exhibit, “History Ink: the Tattoo Archive Project” in November. Photographer Terry Brown snapped shots of colorful denizens from one of the most inked-up cities in the country showing off work by a bevy of local tattoo artists. The result was a living history collection unlike anything the museum’s ever seen.
