It might seem like canine heaven. If you’re going to be boarded, doesn’t it make sense for the dog to be allowed to play all day with other ones if he or she behaves well? That’s the theory behind Diamond Dog House, a dog-only facility near The Diamond. Its success is due to “our open cage environment, caring staff and flexibility,” says owner Dodie Lynch, who’s run the facility for nearly 10 years. It’s also a place where busy downtown workers can get day care for their dogs. Dogs aren’t kept in individual runs for hours on end but they can join a big dog park, Lynch says. Holiday Barn Pet Resorts offers swimming pools. Happy Camper Pet Lodge offers lots of exercise for its canine and feline guests.
