Treating children is different from treating adults, Dr. Charles Terry says, but those are the patients he prefers. They often can’t describe their symptoms, so a doctor has to be patient and genuinely enjoy taking care of them. Winning them over isn’t always easy either. “You try to be gentle,” Terry says. “Talk about what’s important to them.”
