If you visit a spa for massage therapy because you’re suffering pain in a specific area, therapists often will avoid that area because they don’t want to damage it, says Cynthia Mulvaney, clinic director of the Spinal Correction Center of Richmond. The Spinal Correction Center takes the opposite approach. After an initial exam, chiropractor Michael Mulvaney creates a body blueprint to guide the center’s massage therapists as they do personalized body work to address persistent pain.
