Second Place: Lehja

Third Place: The Daily Kitchen & Bar

“We try to serve up an experience,” co-owner of Lunch/Supper Rick Lyons says, citing food, drink, service and just the right music as essential to attracting hungry patrons. “You can’t get away with being mediocre in Richmond anymore because you’re fighting the best. There’s so much talent in this town.” It’s also a question of focus, he says: “If you’re not paying attention to detail every day in everything you do, you may as well throw away the key and lock the door. We’ve got no time or tolerance for that.” Lehja offers modern Indian cooking at a nonchain option, a rarity in the West End, while the Daily’s patio seduces Carytown crowds wanting to see and be seen.
