With its many wins in this category — and for housing the funny — Coalition Theater has become the go-to spot for adult comedy downtown. Richmond Comedy Sportz is more of a family-friendly affair. It’s been teaching classes for more than 20 years to a wide range of ages and holding comedy camps, even leading applied improvisation classes in businesses throughout the region. Every year since 2008, Comedy Sportz has teamed up with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to offer a ComedySportz match to honor local children battling cancer.
