Having emerged from the rave scene in the late ’90s, Kulture has spent the past 15 years growing along with the subculture it serves. What began as one shop is now five, with locations in Midlothian, Glen Allen and Charlottesville in addition to Kulture’s 18th Street and Cary Street shops. In addition to handmade pipes and vaporizers, you’ll find limited-run Richmond-themed shirts including one with the Kulture logo inserted into a scene from “Dazed and Confused.” Sounds about right. Katra Gala has been around nearly as long and offers a constantly rotating selection of pipes, while Green House Glass in the Fan is a relative newcomer to the party.
