Babes of Carytown

3166 W. Cary St.
355-9330

Second Place: Godfreys Restaurant and Nightclub

Third Place: Barcode

Maybe it’s those cheap Jell-O shots or the ginormous volleyball court out back, but one thing is for sure: Babe’s is a surefire bet for a damn good time. There’s something happening almost every night of the week at the Carytown spot, including live bands, drag shows, dance parties and karaoke. It also has worthy food specials like 20-cent shrimp night on Wednesdays and $1 tacos and tots on Thursdays, perfect for soaking up all that drink. Your orientation doesn’t matter — it’s all about throwing inhibitions out the door and partying it up. Just heed this advice: Stay off that pole on the dance floor. Godfreys continues to prove that it’s more than just Sunday drag shows with such party themes as Hump Night, directed primarily to the college crowd. And Barcode continues to pull in folks with excellent happy hour prices, good times and quaint patio.
