Dr. Banks Turner has a gift for putting anxious patients at ease. “He listens, takes time with you,” says Bobbie Blowers, Turner’s assistant for 13 years. “It’s like you’re talking to a good friend,” she adds — one with a good sense of humor. “He makes them laugh a lot. And they love that.” A family practitioner for patients 14 years old and older, Turner has practiced medicine in the Fan for almost two decades. Dr. Richard L. Gergoudis and David A. Berv are both perennial favorites of Best of Richmond voters. Gergoudis is beloved for his personal approach and Berv, a chiropractor, for his dedication to helping athletes and others overcome pain.
