There was a time long, long ago, when trekking up to the edge of Church Hill was an adventure. Back then, Millie’s Diner was a culinary anomaly at the end of East Main Street. A mix of creative food, an eclectic jukebox and a forward-looking vibe that combined jeans with fine dining attracted hungry Richmonders — and they were willing to wait for two hours in lines that wrapped around the building. Other restaurants have come and gone, but its unflagging culinary chops keep the crowds coming to Millie’s.
