It might be a chain bar, but there’s nothing generic about Bar Louie and the crowd of people who continue to flock to this Short Pump mainstay. Front of the house manager Ashley Healy Larsen contributes its success to a variety of factors. “Great service, first of all,” she says. “An amazing happy hour plus different food and drink specials for different days of the week. That includes $1 burgers on Tuesdays and $5 beer-bucket specials on Wednesdays. Along with live music, DJs and 20 beer taps, the West Enders and those who make the trek stay entertained and socializing. The chic Tazza Kitchen, known for wood-fired pizza and great craft cocktails, comes in second, while Jack Brown’s Beer and Burger joint, known for the aforementioned two staples done right, comes in third.
