The VMFA transformed into a runway mecca for an eye-popping show Sunday evening, as the VCU School of the Arts Department of Fashion Design and Merchandising presented Runway 2016: EMERGE.
Behind the photo: After years of concentrating on the action of an event, I sometimes find better photos in the reactions of spectators. I love this photo because sandwiched in between two people using cellphones to document the moment, you have a young women in awe and an elderly woman keenly appreciating the moment. The woman on the far right is icing on the cake, she’s completely enjoying the show.
