Alice Cooper may be best known as one of the pioneers of heavy metal, bringing a shocking theatricality to the genre with a stage show that included electric chairs, guillotines, fake blood and boa constrictors (as demonstrated in “Wayne's World”). He's also no dummy when it comes to the history of the places he plays (Who out there knew Milwaukee was Algonquin for “The Good Land” and that it's the only major American city to elect three socialist mayors?). Sure to play hits such as “School's Out,” “No More Mr. Nice Guy” and “Feed My Frankenstein,” the man may show what he knows about Richmond at the National on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 8 p.m. $28-$32. — Mike Hilleary
