Afrikana is back with its first screening of the year. Working with the Richmond Black Restaurant Experience and Croaker’s Spot Restaurants, it will be presenting an encore screening of the 2018 Oscar-nominated short, “My Nephew Emmett,” by filmmaker Kevin Wilson Jr. The film tells the story of the tragic night that 14-year-old Emmett Till was kidnapped and murdered by racists, and the ways his 64-year old uncle tried to protect him.
