The Score

Posted on Tue, Apr 1, 2014 at 11:51 AM

+6 The Monument Avenue 10-K draws more than 36,300 participants, with UNC-Greensboro track star Paul Chelimo posting the fastest finish at 29:24. What's even more impressive is that he stopped for keg stands at a porch party along the way.

+4 The Byrd Theatre is filled with thousands of Francophiles through the weekend for the 22nd year of the French Film Festival. Does it cultivate romance? Let's just say we won't be surprised if the next big baby name around these parts is Pierre.

-1 Richmond police make three drug arrests, CBS-6 reports, after a two-month investigation leads to a raid on a fish market and two downtown barber shops. The "high and tight" haircut special will now be known as just "tight."

+2 The Metro Richmond Zoo announces that its five cheetah cubs, which have been seen on webcams for months, will move into their new exhibit to the public April 1 at 10:30 a.m. Guess it's back to YouTube to get our cute kitty fix.

+5 Gwar decides that a memorial for its late frontman, Dave Brockie, will be public, to be held Aug. 16 at Hadad's Lake and followed by Gwar-B-Q the next day. In lieu of flowers, please come prepared to stroke the Cuttlefish of Cthulhu.
