The Score

A weekly rating of the city zeitgeist.

+8 With much glitz and glamour, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts officially opens its doors on a long-awaited $204 million expansion and renovation. OK, let's just get this straight right now: Take off those dirty shoes and leave them by the front door. We're not going to get this all messed up.

-4 Local civic, business and government officials visit Durham, N.C., for their annual InterCity trip to get ideas on how to make Richmond better. Then they all return to their Chesterfield County houses, pledging to hold an immediate and collaborative series of strategic planning summits on where they'll go next year.

+6 An estimated 3,000 to 4,000 people turn out for the Earth Day Festival in Manchester. Organizers have already decided to recycle the event.

0 Gov. Bob McDonnell marks his 100th day in office. He nearly won his inaugural day bet with Cuccinelli to see who could perform the most mockable acts..

+1 World Wrestling Entertainment superstars John Cena and Randy Orton are spotted lifting weights at Gold's Gym Arboretum before WWE's “Monday Night Raw” show at the Richmond Coliseum. Apparently, the shower drains are still oily.
